My name is Mike Wilburn from Garland, Texas. I did not serve in the military, but I am very thankful for all that did and those that are serving today. I am trying to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Program through the USO. This program assists and supports injured and disabled military personnel that have been wounded in combat. The program helps these folks and their families adjust to a way of life that we cannot imagine. Please go to the Wounded Warriors website at http://www.uso.org/woundedwarriors/ and see what this organization has to offer these great men and women.
Ok... Here is the deal... I am not going to shave, trim or cut my beard for one year. Yes, ONE YEAR!! I began on Friday, April, 1, 2011, and will go through April, 1, 2012. (No April Fools Joke!) In return, I am asking for your support by pledging what you can to this great cause. Your pledge can be donated at any time during the next year. All donations pledged through April 1, 2012 will be counted toward my goal of $7,500.
Suggested pledges are as follows:
$1.00 per day = $365.00
$0.50 per day = $182.50
$0.25 per day = $ 91.25
$0.10 per day = $ 36.50
You can pledge as an individual or as a group. Your gift is also tax deductable. Every penny you give will go directly to the USO Wounded Warriors Program.
If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, go to the following link: https://www.uso.org/Donate_Operation_Enduring_Care/ and follow the instructions for donation on the right side of the page. Your tax deduction form will be mailed to you by the USO.
****ALSO, please email me any donation amount you make on this website so I can keep a running total of how much I have collected toward my goal of $7,500**** My email address is mswilburn@sbcglobal.net
Together we can do great things for this great cause. Please help me spread the word about this great organization. It's not about us, it's about the sacrifice of these brave warriors.
I will update the site monthly with total pledge amounts and "Whisker Pics". Check back frequently and let me know what you think!
